I can print via a USB cable, but not wirelessly. This happened after the Windows 10 upgrade and affected both my PC and my Macbook Air.

I have uninstalled / reinstalled drivers from Brother (May '16). I can manually connect to my WLAN using the printer's front face controls and get a 'WLAN report OK' printout. I have checked and Windows 10 has all updates.

When I go through the 'Brother Printing Device Installation', everything is fine until it searches and asks 'Choose the Brother Machine you want to install'. Nothing shows up here (it doesn't see the printer). I have done this setup both with the USB connected and 'Configure through the control panel manually'. Both methods result in the same failed to see the printer situation.

I get the following message:

No devices could be found over the network

Have you connected your printing device to your wireless access point / router? Yes, I have

If not then click 'OK' in this dialogue box then click 'Wireless Setup' in the next.

If you have already done this, please check the following:

-Check that the machine is On and that there are no error indications It is ON with no errors

-If you are running any anti-virus software or have a firewall, check that this is not blocking any communication between your computer and the printing device (please refer to any instructions provided by your anti-virus software or firewall manufacturer on how to do this). I have gone so far as uninstalling my anti-virus software (Avast) and disabled the Windows firewall temporarily (10 minutes), and still get this same message when I go through the wireless setup.

Both computers (PC and Mac) are connected to the Wifi network and have no other issues. The printer, as I said, is also connected to the Wifi network and the WLAN report is OK. Running the 'Troubleshoot' on the printer comes up with nothing except saying a USB 2 cable may not work on a USB 3 port. As I said, I have no problems printing via USB.

Why can't the computer communicate with the printer wirelessly anymore? The PC is 2 ft away from the printer, and the Mac had no problems printing from the next room, as you would expect, prior to Windows 10 being installed.

Any help is appreciated.
