Double-click the file named Setup.exe in the right pane of the window to begin the installation.
  1. From a Download: Double-click the downloaded installation file (executable file with an .exe file extension).
  2. See Welcome to QuickBooks : Click Next to begin the installation.
  3. Read the terms of the Software License Agreement. If you agree, select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
  4. Select the type of installation for this computer:
    a) Choose Express if you would like the installer to make the recommended choices for you.
    b) Choose Customer and Network Options if you will use QuickBooks
    to share data with other users at the same time on a network, or if you want to change the location where QuickBooks will be installed.
    c) Click Next after you make your choice. Proceed to Step 5 if you chose Express, or skip to Step 6 if you chose Custom.
  5. Enter the License and Product numbers in the appropriate fields
  6. Select the Custom and Network Options for this computer:
  7. I'll be using QuickBooks on this computer:
    a) Choose this option if you are installing on a computer when someone will be sitting at this computer using QuickBooks and will not have the company file stored on this computer (workstation).
  8. I'll be using QuickBooks on this computer, AND I'll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network.
    a) Choose this option if someone will be sitting at this computer using QuickBooks or accessing QuickBooks through Remote Desktop onnections, and will locally store the company file that can be shared with others.
  9. I will NOT be using QuickBooks on this computer. I will be storing our company file here so it can be shared over network. (A license is not required for this option.)
  10. Choose this option if no one will be using QuickBooks on this computer, but you plan on using the computer as a file server to share the company file over the network with 1 or more workstations with QuickBooks installed on them.
  11. Click Next when you have made your selection.
  12. Note: By default the Custom and Network Options will have in
    parenthesis the Current Settings installed from your older version of
    QuickBooks. That is, if you had QuickBooks installed on this computer including the QuickBooks Database Server Manager, the second option I'll be using QuickBooks on this computer, AND I'll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network will have [Current Setting] to the right of the option.
    If this is the first time QuickBooks will be installed on this
    computer, you will not have any reference to a current setting.

    Here you have the ability to change the location that QuickBooks is installed by clicking Browse.
    You may also select to replace a previous copy of QuickBooks
    install on your computer.
    Note: The Replace the version selected below with the version I'm
    installing now
    option is only available if the QuickBooks installer detects
    a previous installation of QuickBooks. That is, if you currently have a
    previous version of QuickBooks installed and you are upgrading to QuickBooks
    2011, you will have the option as it appears in the image provided.
    That is it! Click Install to continue, or click Back if you
    need to go back and review any of the prior screens.
    If you would like shortcuts to Services we offer and Support
    Options, make sure to select Add service and support shortcuts before
    clicking Install.
    QuickBooks will return the following message when the
    installation has completed: Congratulations! You have successfully installed
    QuickBooks.
